Local Knowledge: Map and Walking Tour

Local Knowledge was a story based place making project, funded as part of the Live Alice Initiative. Drawing on interviews of 14 different individuals and community groups, the project collective created a beautiful hand drawn map and walking tour that shares stories linked to different sites around the CBD. The project enabled visitors the opportunity to see the town through local eyes, and offered locals new stories about familiar places.

Individual maps were distributed throughout the CBD and complemented with a series of 3 walking tours exploring map themes including gateways, sites of community overlap and dissonance, and cycles of change and renewal
